Layered Learning
Memory isn't a flat list. It's a hierarchy. We force you to build the scaffolding (Root/Trunk) before you attempt to hang the details (Leaves).
Layer 1: The Root
The sun gives us light and warmth.
A concept simple enough for a 5-year-old to understand. This is the foundation.
Layer 2: The Trunk
The sun gives us light and warmth because the surface temperature is 5,500°C.
We add scientific fact and structure to the basic observation.
Layer 3: The Branch
The sun gives us light and warmth because the photosphere at 5,500°C radiates visible and infrared light.
We introduce specific mechanisms and terminology (photosphere, recurrence).
Layer 4: The Leaves
The sun gives us light and warmth because nuclear fusion in the core (~15,000,000°C) produces energy that must travel outward. As energy moves, it eventually makes it to the photosphere and is radiated outward.
The deepest level of detail, explaining the "why" at the fundamental level.
